I work for this company over the past few months. Good job. The money could have been better. I was terminated due to the fact I got sick was an outpatient at a local hospital. I tried to contact my boss but all I did was get voice mail. Left message. Got telephone call later that morning and was left a voice mail stating I was no longer needed. I turned in all my co. property. I asked for my final pay check. The office manager stated to me that the owner is holding my final paycheck to pay for damages to a co. truck due to a minor accident. After I got home, I contacted the Wage and Industry people here in my state. The young lady stated that that is illegal. I filed a wage compliant for non-payment. I also applied for unemployment at the same time. The following day, I got a visit from the local police. I was told that I am being accused of stealing a sign. ???? I told the officer that I am not that dumb. But the owner is accusing me since I am the last employee to leave. The officer took my info. Yesterday I contacted the Wage people to see what was going on. I was that the co. is still withholding my wages to pay for the damages. The state is now investigating and will get back to me. The owner of this company is not following the rules. He fired another employee earlier this year and is doing the samething to him.
