I, the customer am not important, just my money. I have my own insurance right here (copy of my coverage on a Ryder form from my insurance company) “ oh I cannot take that... I have to send it to Florida to get approved and they are closed for the weekend now. You have to take our insurance until yours is approved!” This was on a Friday at 4:45 pm . “ There will be a deposit “ ... failed to mention it was $940 , that’s 1 1/2 times the ‘estimated ‘ rental rate. So they guess your miles, and sell you their insurance and add taxes & fees! They say that they settle with you every 7 days, that you get charged for your use of the rental and refund the difference to your card and then charge you another $940 deposit! I have been charged $940 twice and haven’t seen the bill for the first week nor have I seen the difference refunded to my card!!! I asked at the time of renting the truck if a 16 ft truck came in to call me that I wanted it. ( they only had a 26 ft for rent) A business partner that I work with walked into the same Ryder office yesterday and rented a 16 ft truck! Did I get a call?? NO I didn’t! Talk about pissed off!! I’m turning my truck in tomorrow and renting from Penske I usually do but last week they had nothing available. I don’t like the condescending treatment I received from the rental office personnel, The three times that I walked in they gave no greeting were sitting in an adjoining room eating or playing with their phone. I’m self employed and give the best service I can to grow my business; I guess when you just get paid ‘$3.00’ an hour you use that as an excuse and don’t care about the customer or taking care of there needs. Well this customer is not coming back and with this review I plan on telling anyone every chance I get not to do business with Ryder and why!
