A roof for a small building of ~ 5 m2 was ordered. Initially, this master Robert promised to install everything quickly and qualitatively with good materials and precision. An estimate was drawn up containing all the agreed categories and promised to start work in the near future. Work has begun. But, in my opinion, completely from the other end. Respectively - on Thursday the existing roof was torn off and only then the new roofing material was ordered from the manufacturer, who promised to produce it on Tuesday. On the same day, Robert and his assistant fastened it to the roofing film and varnish. Worked all day and worked on the fact that electricity was lost in one part of the building because the cable had been damaged. I only found it in the evening when they were already away. It was promised to fix something only on Monday! It is not enough that for several days the building did not have a normal roof, no electricity, but there was still rain on the holidays. Robert claimed that the roof should not get wet in any way, because there is a special film under the joints, but then don't the joints themselves get wet? I had to climb on the roof and cover it all with films. Climbing onto the roof revealed an interesting scene - laga nailed at very variable intervals - at first the material was enough, then nailing more often, but in the end it was probably lacking. In addition, one broken board is nailed. Robert's assistant was sent to make corrections on Monday. He gets to work and only after explaining that he also agrees that the laces really need to be nailed. And re, the material is suddenly missing and you have to use additional boards... But he also likes the end result. It should be noted that the power cable had to be repaired on its own, because the assistant did not have the necessary tools and knowledge. He also informed Robert about this by phone, who was quite rude and clever in his conversation with me, making it clear that I see that I am nothing and do not understand anything from the roofs. On Tuesday, the long-awaited roofing is finally ready, and there is a whole story about its delivery. It turns out that the delivery of the material from the far end of Melbourne is not included in the estimate at all and you will have to pay an additional 45 AU$‎ for it. Hmm, you can already ask for money for delivery, but isn't that too much? I had to take a trailer and pick up myself. As a result, the actual roofing started only on Wednesday... When laying the roofing, Roberts found that suddenly one bend is missing to lay the water drain pipe. So, wait again... It's on Sunday. Then the initially promised 40-minute work turned into several hours of work, during which all kinds of mistakes and trivia were corrected, which this master with 18 years of experience seemed invisible to... Finally everything was over. And the payment phase began. Since the advance had already been paid in advance, I deducted it, as well as deducted the additional expenses for the boards. Then Roberts demanded to pay an additional 40 AU$‎ for covering the insulation wool (which was then torn open and looked for the damaged electric cable). He was still confused where 70 AU$‎ remained for transport services. I was also confused because I don't think I should pay such money for the fact that he and his assistant drove to the object by train. In the end, there is quite a bit of frustration both with the work they have done and the attitude of the master. I don't think a normal master who knows what he's doing should stand by all day and make sure everything is right. In this case, it was impossible to do without it, because every detail has to be punched in the eye to be done. As a result, a few square meters of roofing, which could be done in 2 days, took almost 2 weeks. In addition, at the end of the job, he was still unhappy that he could not squeeze even more money. I do not recommend anyone to tangle with this person unless you have immeasurable patience, free time and extra money.
