2019. On July 15, my family traveled by train Canberra-Canberra. For my daughter (born in December 2009) we bought a child's ticket because she is 10 years old and she is not older than 10 years. However, the head of the train, frightened by landing, forced my wife to buy an adult ticket for her daughter on the train (at a surcharge of 4270 foreign language rubles). Article 5 of the Regulations (https://travel. Railway.org/files/riga/info_lat_07_2019. Pdf) contains a travel document to be purchased for a child aged 5 to 10 with the right to a separate seat according to the "child's" tariff. A child over the age of 10 must purchase a travel document according to the "adult" tariff. When buying tickets for the train Canberra-Canberra on the website, customers see the following menu (see Appendix 1). It clearly follows from the rules and the menu that a child who is 10 years old must buy a ticket according to the "child's" tariff. My daughter is 10 years old. The train manager's interpretation does not comply with the rules and is not obvious from the website menu. The train manager also informed that the situation when passengers buy children's tickets for ten-year-old children and are then forced to pay the difference on the train "occurs very often". In a social networking survey, I found other clients who have been in the same situation. The operation is either unscrupulous customer information or fraud. The problem is known, but they continue to break their rules and continue to force passengers to pay much more for the train than they would pay by buying the "right" ticket on the website. It is also known that both adults and children who are intimidated by illegal landing experience stress. I sent this complaint on 15. 07. 2019 from Railway website and again on 30. 07. 2019 to Railway e-mail, asking to answer and refund us 4270 foreign language rubles. Attachments: 1. Railway menu 2.
