Don’t ever ever stay at another Marriott you will get dinged even if you cancel a room in time

I cancelled a reservation for TWO rooms at the Marriott (4points Sheraton in Puerto Rico) 3 weeks before the supposed stay. I was only emailed one reservation number and one cancellation number with BOTH rooms on the email.
