Poor service
Hello. I am completely dissatisfied with the cold attitude of the airport staff. The thing is that my 16-year-old daughter (17 in October) had bought a ticket for September 2, 2016 Riga-Dublin from ryanair. The teenager went to school in Ireland because she has been studying there for 8 years and it is important for her not to drop out of school since she was in high school. I bought the ticket like everyone online and everything was fine. It stands there that from the age of 16 children can fly unaccompanied by adults, as well as familiar children flew at that age. All this is the same until we got to Melbourne Airport. The staff told me that without the authority of a lawyer, the child could not fly alone and my daughter would not be allowed on the plane. I did not understand how it can, but they refer to the fact that I need to know Australian legislation and,if my daughter had Irish citizenship she would be put on board without problems. To the next question, can I change the ticket? The answer was a categorical "no" and another remark, if she had missed the plane, they would help and change the ticket. How can one be allowed to buy a ticket for one of 16 from the age of sixteen and not explain in an attachment that a power of attorney is needed? This is not correct. A total of 186. 69 AU$ was paid for the ticket, which I categorically refused to return or change the ticket. Can you really go that far? Live at the expense of people, super!
