Service is a disgrace

Poor service

Two weeks ago, I bought an item from ebay in the United States. Everything went well, the product quickly went through various shipment processing centers in the USA and Europe and within a week and a half was already in Melbourne, where it got into the hands of DHL Australia. I received an e-mail that required customs clearance, sent all the required documents and had no problems. The results of tracking the shipments on the 17th date stated that the customs clearance was completed. There was no news on the 18th and I did not have a specific date or time when the courier would deliver my shipment. On the 19th I came home and went to sleep. I am asleep and in the e-mail, I have received an e-mail from DHL that I have missed a shipment. Unfortunately, asleep, I did not hear the courier call at the door and did not go to the e-mail in the morning and did not see the announcement that my delivery is expected today. In the same e-mail there was an option for me to choose a new delivery date, I chose tomorrow. I received a confirmation email that the next delivery will take place on my chosen date of 20th. After hard work at night, I came home and started waiting, waiting, waiting and not waiting. I will call a person who would wake me up when a courier arrives so as not to miss another delivery. The 20th date passed and the courier did not arrive either. I wanted to call the customer support center, but they had already finished work and as far as Friday was concerned, I now have to wait 2 days without knowing where my shipment is and when I will receive it. Why does DHL Australia offer customers to choose re-delivery dates if the courier does not arrive on the chosen day? And why not give specific time intervals when the courier could arrive (given only "Until the end of the day"),do people really have to sit at home all day and wait for a courier to arrive without knowing if it will happen in the morning, day or evening? Very poor service!
