Misleading the customer

Today I am facing a very unpleasant situation between me and the mobile operator Telstra. Two weeks ago my husband switched to Telstra as a new customer. I handle all formalities and offers (eg choosing a tariff plan) by phone with the operator. The man just signed a contract. During the call, the operator very strongly offered to try the home Internet. He said that for 2 weeks we can use the Internet at home completely free of charge and if in the end we decide that we do not want to connect to the service, then we will be able to return the device (router) to any Telstra customer service center. In addition, the courier will bring us a new card in any case and you can also bring a router at times. I agree. It turned out that we didn't even open the box. Our term expired on 11. 03. 2017. The man suddenly left on a business trip. 09. 03. 2017 I came to the nearest Telstra branch, which in our case is located in Shopping Mall Origo, but I was driving from another city. And a Telstra employee informs me that only the man who has a contract with them can return the router, then my husband (who is abroad). The only thing the employee suggested to me was that my husband should write a letter via the Internet stating that he was authorizing me to return the router. He wrote. If I wanted to terminate the contract for the use of services, I can still understand why I can't do it instead of my husband, but it was an ADVERTISING PROMOTION from Telstra and NO Therefore, I wanted to warn people who agree with the advertising campaign on the part of Telstra about free use of mobile internet. Maybe my experience will help someone. It is really unfortunate that Telstra does not go against its customers and does nothing to help resolve non-standard situations faster.
