Thoracic Surgery - Diagnostic Documents
I recommend that patients seek diagnostic results from doctors before leaving the department, as they are unlikely to receive these documents later. If the patient wishes to receive the results of the examinations performed at the time of discharge from the department, he or she is told that everything is in order with the examinations and that, consequently, the patient does not need such documents at all. However, in cases where the patient later needs to clarify the diagnosis or if another doctor wants to verify the results of the diagnosis, the absence of specific documents does not make it possible to determine on what basis the patient was diagnosed and whether such diagnosis was made correctly. Despite these considerations,at the time of discharge, the patient is denied the opportunity to receive the documents of the performed diagnostic examinations and the only one that is issued on hand is a short standard extract with typographical errors, which are visible even in terminology and diagnosis titles. Later, when the patient calls the department and tries to find a way to receive the necessary documents, the answer is that no one knows anything about his documents here, or he refuses to talk to the patient at all.
