Destroyed my 27″ iMac

I had a 27″ iMac that had a problem with the extended desktop. I worked perfectly well when using extended desktop and an external monitor, both displays worked, the 27″ and the external 24″; but the computer would try to reboot if the external monitor was disconnected.
