Phone purchased from safelink

Safelink sold me a phone that they now say can't be activated in my zip code. That's something that should be checked before safelink customer service sells a phone to someone. It's reddiculous to sell people a phone that can't be activated in their area so that should be something that safelink customer service checks on before they take someone's money.
