A seam in the roof of the van was torn open from a previous accident where it appeared the van was driven through a drive thru (damage to the upper corner of the van was noted in the pre-walk around inspection at the McHenry, IL Hertz rental location on 6/29/2021.) We had to drive through 8 hours of severe rain. When we arrived at our new home three of our four mattresses were soaked. We have had to throw out one of them due to mildew/mold on it. There is an incident report on file with the Hertz drop-off location at the Tyler Airport where Wilford took pictures and completed the incident report (online).We rented the Hertz cargo van to protect our belongings. It did not.
