Double booked our flight and did not provide refund

Itinerary # [protected] flight booked through Expedia on United Airlines Confirmation # MLXZHG for Tuesday May 18, 2021. Expedia sent several emails stating that United had cancelled our flight. The flight was in fact not cancelled, I called United May 24th and the customer service rep told me that the flight was NOT cancelled and Expedia had double booked the flight, so they told us it was cancelled so we would not show up at the airport. United Rep told me I have to contact Expedi and ask them to remove the No Value on our purchase so that a credit/refund can be issued to us. I need Expedia to contact United and ask that the No Value of our purchase be removed so that United can issue me a credit. This is unethical behaviour on Expedia's part. They should not be allowed to over book a flight, send false cancellation emails and then not allow the customer to not be reimbursed.
