Women’s tennis players names

4

Is it because they don't care how you pronounce their names or is it because you don't care. That odd 'ova' at the end of many Slavic names means they 'belong' to the father. A rather old fashioned idea. Nevertheless their 'real name' is the one that appears before the ova. Martina's family name is Navratil for instance. I notice that Male tennis players names get the respect of the announcers Goffin, Mr Shapovalov for instance. Would it be too much for your commentators to pronounce all those female tennis players names correctly ? User's recommendation: Lower the commentary until they pronounce the 'ova' names correctly.
