We got the machine in 2019. It sat in a cupboard in the laundry room for 18 months. When I got the machine out to use it, I found out the wire hook used to thread the needle was not there. I contacted Brother and told them it was the first time I used the machine, but they said the warranty had expired while it sat in my cupboard. The only solution they offered was for me to pay to get it repaired. User's recommendation: Check your machine very carefully the day you buy it!
