Cancellation policy is crap.

Japan Airlines canceled the first leg of my flight. I was given the option of complete cancellation. I canceled. I was entitled to a refund. I contacted my booking agency (Expedia). They confirmed my cancellation and the amount to be returned. Expedia told me that the refund would come from Japan Airlines. Expedia also said Japan Airlines would not refund my money for 8 to 12 weeks. Japan Airlines was able to take my money by credit card immediately. I phoned Japan Airlines to ask, "Why a refund would take 8 to 12 weeks since the refund would be done electronically?" Their representative kept reading the policy from the airline's refund. The refund policy wasn't stated at the time of booking. caI received after the fact from Expedia.
