Stop payment on check

I have been a suntrust customer for 20 plus years.I mailed a check on 12 /23/2020 to my credit card company.As of 1/5/2021 they still had not received it.I called suntrust customer service line on 1/6/21 to stop payment on the check.I was charged 36.00 dollars from my checking account for this.I have my mortgage with suntrust also and have never missed a payment or had an overdraft charge to my checking account.Nor have I ever had to stop payment on a check.I have an excellent credit rate.To charge me 36.00 dollars for a stop payment seems absurd since it is not my fault that my check was lost in the mail.I will be changing banks and also refinance my mortgage with another bank.It is my opinion thAt this is very poor customer service. User's recommendation: I will tell anyone who asks me about suntrust banking I will inform them what happened to me and discourage them from banking with Suntrust.
