Recommend Halcyon instead of La Toc
2
Our stay at La Toc started out great. Butler's greeted us with champagne bedroom was decorated beautifully, things were as we were expected. We arrived on a Friday evening and were notified Saturday evening, that the Pavilion restaurant was closing for remodeling, which that is their largest restaurant. We were told it would be closed for 6 weeks. If we had been notified, of the remodeling prior we would have opted transfer to Halcyon. Management failed to make the proper accommodations throughout the resort to compensate for this closure which drastically impacted our stay. Tuesday we ordered pizza that usually takes 20 minutes to receive we waited over an hour and a half for it. It also took half an hour to get a beer from the bar at the pool, the other bar was closed from The Pavilion no additional bar tenders working, only one at this time. One of the restaurants that was open was called Neptune's. There were long lines blocking main walkway to the pool area and the bar. Safety violations include, birds being around the food, blocking the entrance way, and wet surfaces. I witnessed 4 people slip or fall down during our stay. Talked to the food service manager about concerns and that we were not happy with service and things did not improve. Since the closure of the restaurant and the many issues we were encountering we tried to salvage our trip and took a taxi to the Halcyon to relax.
