Pump DIED just after warranty of 1 year ended.

Update by user Jun 10, 2020 . First I received a loaner for 90 day. I had a new pump in two weeks due to no insurance complications. My representative was wonderful. Mary Kate answered all my questions with me totally understanding. It turns out my pump was replace a year ago however the warranty was from my old pump. The company had gone out of business and medtronics bought the warranty's. Therefore my warranty was not really on a new pump expect for the year I had left on the old Animus. However,, I continue to be concerned that my pump, same as one that died in a year, will die again. It is covered for 4 years but the inconvenience of not having a pump even for three days is not something I wish to go thru again. Medtronics was good at sending a replacement right away. The problem being it was a weekend so I had to wait till Monday. Thank the good Lord I have a fabulous endocrinologist. I contacted her that evening and a script was sent thru immediately for short acting insulin. I already had needles available for the pump insulin. I received incorrect information from the first person who sent me a loaner pump. ALWAYS send your old pump back!! You get money in your account and they dispose of it correctly. If they say throw it out tell them you want to return it. Definitely the way to go. In my opinion Medtronics just need to back up their products better. I still believe my insurance should not have had to pay for a one year old pump. The reason they did is because I have not had them pay for a pump in 4 or 5 years. so their was no fight. There are not many good pumps out there. When the 670G works it is great for what I need. I had an A1C of 7.0 I never get that low. The Auto Mode setting, when set correctly by the doctor, can be fabulous. I will buy again if it lasts more than a year. Original review posted by user May 11, 2020 My pump just stopped working (pump error) at 10 PM on a Sunday evening. I called Medtronics immediately after not finding any helpful information in the Guide. I was directed to the guide by the pump message. Medtronics said they will send me a loaner for 90 days to arrive on Tuesday since it is a Sunday and cannot send any quicker. They will contact insurance, however warned insurance may not pay for another pump. Why should they ? It is not their fault or mine that the pump was defective!!! I have had a lot of trouble with the pump and CGM working since I had it. Each time they just send more sensors or found a way to get the pump back on track. Insurance should be paid for the defective pump not charged for a new one. This pump has helped me maintain better HA1C's (now at 7.0) but this hassle just might not be worth it. Seriously frustrated. Their answer is just SORRY, it no longer works. Buy a new one! Will that also die in 13 months? User's recommendation: Still debating what to do . It helps but the hassle may not be worth it.
