Poor Workmanship, Dishonesty, & Excuses

I had a bad experience with Rick Mish of Miltronix, Toledo, Ohio when I sent my Collins R-390A to him for a rebuild. The receiver was repaired incorrectly, not fixed after two returns, and had to be repaired by another shop. I had the radio delivered on Oct 9 for an $1100 rebuild and received it six weeks later with the antenna trim not working and intermittent reception below 8 megacycles. The radio was returned and after another $250 it came back with the trim fixed but now there was no reception at all below 8 mc. Once again I returned it and after waiting two months I got it back on Feb 25 in the same condition. He did nothing at all to repair it both times that I sent it back. I finally sent the set to a legitimate repair shop where they found the problem, a bad capacitor. Along with that, the PTO anti backlash spring was missing, the alignment was incorrect, tuning gear springs were too tight, the slug racks were binding, and excessive lubricant on the antenna trim gears was affecting the audio. It cost $280 to straighten out the mess and get it to operate correctly. Dean
