Owner has poor management skills and is prone to indecisiveness

1

Be careful when dealing with Rick May, the owner of May Day. He does not treat his employees well and has a very poor memory. He makes promises to his employees and conveniently forgets them when timing isn't good for him. Employee morale is poor and affects pride and performance on the job. Employee turnover is high and that is a good representation of poor management skills. Good example: Rick May promised an employee the week of Christmas 2014 off (without pay) 6 months in advance of the holiday and was reminded no less than three times prior to the Holiday so the employee's family could confirm their non-refundable travel plans (the employee's wife has stage 4 breast cancer). Rick May told that employee December 18th that if he didn't come to work Christmas week 2014, the week Rick May had pre-approved months in advance as unpaid days off, today, Rick May fired the employee because the employee couldn't change his family plans for Christmas 2014 at this late day...the employees' family is heartbroken. Rick May told this employee that this employee works for him at his business, and he (Rick) makes the rules and he could change them how and when he liked. If the employee can't change with them when Rick needs him to...then he is fired. So Rick fired the employee because he couldn't change his family's Christmas travel plans at such a late notice. Yes Rick May, you do make the rules in your business. However, potential Customers can also ~choose~ to do business with you or not just as easily. Happy Holidays Rick May! I happen to believe potential Customers do care how Business Owners treat their employees because those same employees are doing the work for potential customer's particular project. Potential customers also read online reviews of business' to discover just this sort of information. I don't do business with double minded men because my Higher Power tells me to think twice about it -"An indecisive man is unstable in all his ways"; James 1:8, Holman Christian Standard Bible
