Over billing by ‘baymontinnpensacola.guestreservations .com/

WITHOUT PREJUDICE While arriving in Pensacola on September 11, 2020 Friday. On our phone we typed in Baymont Inn and the above site opened which clearly gave us Baymont Hotel Pensacola. Fl (7330 Plantation Road) that this identified site clearly appeared to be this particular Baymont Inn Pensacola online reservation desk. Then we choose 1 Room 2 Adults for the nite, the Price offered was $ 71.10 which we chose to confirm entering our Visa Card number etc. then after Submitting the Reservation it responded that the total cost would be Costs &; Fees SubtotalUS$71.10 Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees US$31.85 TotalUS$102.95 (See Details Below) What are Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees? This charge includes the estimated amount we pay the hotel for occupancy related taxes owed by the hotel and any amounts charged to us for resort fees, cleaning fees, and other fees. The balance of the charge is a fee we, the hotel supplier and/or the website you booked on, retain as part of the compensation for our and/or their services which varies based on factors such as location, the amount, and how you booked. We assumed that if add'l costs were added over the $ 71.10 that amount would cover, and this higher amount $ 102.95 would be pending on our Visa card which it did. Immediately on entering the Hotel counter we explained this to lady at the counter, she informed us that our Visa card would only be charged $ 68.19 for the stay and gave us a Folio (Detailed) receipt showing what the Baymont Inn is billing us for the stay.s While out for dinner we noticed that the receipt she gave indicated a Mastercard (3267) was charged the $ 68.19. We returned to question her because we were concerned the Hotel had charged another guest's Mastercard. She explained that was a fictitious account # as the hotel was not allowed to share our Visa card details to the third party reservation people,(this was the first we learned we had booked through a 3rd party) but she insisted out Visa would be charged $ 68.19. In the morning, as we usually do we returned the plastic keys and the morning lady who offered us the receipt, and handed us the same Folio (Detailed) paper which indicated again the Mastercard charge and when I questioned her she said that was the Third party Mastercard the hotel billed the $ 68.19 and that the Reservation people would bill our visa the $ 68.19 Today, we learned that CCI (Consumer Club Inc) had indeed debited our Visa the $ 102.95, wow, $ 34.19 over the actual $ 68.19 the Baymont charged them. Or $ 31.85 over the $ 71.10 we had booked for. We phoned the number on "confirmations@***.com" & Guest Reservations email they sent and we got the front desk at Baymont Inns Pensacola and they said they had never dealt with a third party over charge and suggested we contact Guest Reservations directly. When I asked if she would communicate with Wyndham corporate concerning this actions of this third party overcharging their guests she agreed that she would and get back to me. (no call back 4 hours later) Hours later today I contacted Wyndham Corporate Customer Service and was told that the company who overcharged us was CCI Consumer Club Inc and I should find their phone number and contact them directly because Wyndham Hotel corporation had no obligation or recourse. After asking to speak to a supervisor/management, she said they could do nothing. When I started to get frustrated, I explained that CCI is falsely tricking online clients using Wyndham hotels name to defraud Wyndham client,s she did not care and hung up. I did find and phone CCI Consumer Club Inc., and their automated voice management offers 1.online booking 2. online reservation change/cancellation and 3. Speak to an agent. I choose 3. and automatically told for all other subjects to contact the Hotel direct. It,s really depressing and behoovesBBB to think that a big corporation such as Wyndham would take no steps and continue to allow CCI, a third party online company to defraud Wyndham client,s by representing themselves by using the Wyndham Hotel brand. As we do frequently travel by road and have used Wyndham hotels in the past this leaves us with a very bad impression of all their brand hotels. User's recommendation: We give NO STARS to GUEST RESERVATIONS,CCI Consumer Club Inc,Be extremely careful when booking online, it's very hard to decipher who you are booking with, Trip Advisor and other well known companies are possibly a better choice, but we assumed we were booking directly with Baymont Inns in Pensacola.
