Nissan unscrupulous, Pathfinder is shoddily made

1

Nissan is an unscrupulous company that makes shoddy vehicles and passes on the costs of their mistakes to the consumer. I would strongly advise against ever buying a Nissan, used or pre-owned. I own a 2013 Pathfinder Platinum (review written in 2019). Despite keeping up with all recommended maintenance, the transmission of this vehicle failed in 2017 at only 80,000 miles. Fortunately it was still covered under an extended warranty, and Nissan installed a new transmission. The transmission has just failed a second time, only 2.5 years and 60,000 miles after the first. Absolutely outrageous. Nissan refuses to offer any restitution for the failure of a nearly-new transmission that they installed 2 years ago. This is a known issue, and thousands of consumers around the country are having problems with the CVT transmissions in the 2013-**** Pathfinders (including frequent failures at around 70,000 miles). In fact, Nissan settled a law suit stating that it knowingly put faulty transmissions in these vehicles. Yet they still try to suggest that the problem with these vehicles is not their problem, and that it is just ‘too bad’ for the customer that they wind up with a $5K repair. Shame on Nissan. Do not buy from them. Even if you are considering a model that does not have a CVT transmission as described below, Nissan clearly does not take responsibility for their poor workmanship which leaves any Nissan customer vulnerable.
