I bought a townhouse in South Surrey. I was a long time Telus customer but when I moved into the new complex the developer/builder allowed Shaw to have the monopoly re the communications i.e. telephone/internet/tv. I had to sign a two year contract or go without either service. I terminated my contract which Telus paid off. User's recommendation: Don't be brow beat by Shaw into signing contracts. The CRA should go after this company for holding customers to ransom. It would be like telling me to shop at Superstore for my groceries and go nowhere else. I would never use Shaw again even if they cut their charges in half. They are one of the poorest companies in Canada and I will never forgive them for ripping me off.
