I sought someone to mow in general my 1 acre lot, but especially the "back 40" about 1/3 acre that had grown high. I hoped you'd send the folks that had mowed in the past. It was supposed to be mowed on 5/6, and I sat here at home all day waiting for them. That guy sent a text about 5 PM that he could not make it but would get to my place first thing in the morning 5/7, which would have been great. But your company decided to totally reschedule. Wednesday was out due to weather, Thursday no good because the ground would still be too soggy, Friday was agreed upon. What you sent me were two women, recently in the mowing biz, who had only a single narrow cut conventional lawnmower. They spent 5 hours here! At one point a guy showed up on a riding mower and actually got some of the high grass cut, but it seems like about 20 minutes later he was gone. These women trimmed trees and hedges, which I did NOT ask for. After 5 hours they said they had to leave, and I was glad to get rid of them. But the backyard(not the tall grass) was only half cut... and the very back was an unholy mess, still is. Twisted stalks/grass, etc as they were attempting this in tiny steps with this tine walk behind mower. When she was leaving I asked if I pay her or the company, she said it would be better if I paid her because she had to pay the guy with the riding mower(the one here for about 20 minutes) $45 for his service. He was some guy mowing down the street they had come by. BTW, they had told me when they showed up that they had a riding mower "nearby" if they needed it. They also cut the grass pretty high and what they did was ugly. Anyhow I paid her $100, which is what she said the charges were. I was super glad to have them off my property. I got my Godson to come out with a friend to at least clean up the yard on 5/15. I received a call from Lawn Love about an hour after these women left. He called from a Syracuse, NY number. He said that the woman had reported that I paid cash and that is incorrect and I'd have to pay through normal channels. He said that he instructed the woman to return my cash and I agreed to pay after the cash was returned. This is aside from the fact that they did an abysmal job. I have pictures I took right after they left. To date, they have not returned the $100. So you won't get the $98. There is no way in *** I'm going to pay twice for such a poor job. In fact poor job is being too kind. Now in the past (2017) I used Lawn Love and they did a great job. Why can't this still be the case?
