Infinity A/C system thermostats rip off
My Infinity A/C was in the house when I bought it. The thermostat has never worked correctly, in that it doesn't reset itself when the power goes out. This may seem small, but if I went on vacation for a week, my house would be covered in mold when I got back, because I live in Florida. Now, Munns (who installed the unit) tells me the warranty on this thermostat is NOT transferable when the house gets sold, thereby insuring that the new owner has to pay the RIDICULOUS, OVER $700 for a new thermostat. A THERMOSTAT, for God's sake! My computer didn't cost nearly that much! Of COURSE, there is no other thermostat that will work with this system... they have you by the short hairs. And the warranty they will offer me now is only for one year! Does this mean they KNOW this product is a piece of crap? Buy at your own risk, or be willing to fork over a stupid amount of money for thermostat replacements. On top of it all, you can talk to a technician about your problems with their stuff... for a FEE! What a racket.
