This review references a delivery from the R&L in Hampton Roads Virginia. The supervisor i spoke with was James. On 22 May 2019, i arranged with R&L to have an AC system delivered the following day, 23 May 2019 after 3pm. On 23 May 2019, R&L called to inform they were dropping the AC system at the house before 3pm. I explained to them that no one was there to receive the item. My two options were: (1) to reschedule or (2) have the driver drop the AC system off on the door step. I explained to them that the HOA does not allow the items to be placed on the door step and asked if they could drop it off on the patio where the system is "out of sight" and not susceptible to theft. They agreed they would "try and work with me." At around 3:30 pm i received a phone call saying the item was left on the door step. When i called to complain, the supervisor, James indicated they were doing me a favor by dropping the AC system on the door step since they are only authorized to drop it off on the curb. The curb is 75 meters away and not near the condo. When i explained to James this was unacceptable, he said the company fulfilled its end of the bargain. I explained to him that dropping the AC system on the patio was not a violation of R&L's policies which state that they are not permitted to enter into a residence or go up stairs. The patio was adjacent to the door step, but they refused my request. The unit is now sitting unattended in front of my condo until i can hire someone to move it to the patio or inside. If you do business with R&L, realize they will do the absolute minimum to meet their requirement. Since the customer is not paying them, they are under no obligation to provide customer service to the 3rd party. I recommend company's not hire carriers like R&L who will do the bare minimum because there is no one to hold them accountable. If you are going to do business with this company, do so at your own peril.
