Did not cancel after calling to cancel

I called Constellation energy in Early February when I got a renewal notice in late January. My contract was up for renewal on March 28, 2020. I received a cancellation number and assumed my cancellation was forwarded to my default supplier, BGE. After getting a bill on March still showing Constellation as my energy supplier, i decided to call BGE to investigate and was asked about a cancellation number which i could not remember. I called Constellation Energy and explained that i has previously cancelled only to be told that they had no record of it. They did honor my immediate cancellation with no termination fee and provided another cancellation number. I called BGE back and gave them my cancellation number. They told me it would go into effect in about 3 days. they also told me a cancellation number was for the customer and was not needed by BGE since they get a notice of cancellation directly from Constellation energy, which, in my case, they clearly did not give notice. Did anyone else have a similar experience with Constellation Energy? User's recommendation: Report your cancellation number to BGE.
