Deceived by Sales Rep

We were at the store on Hespeler road Cambridge Monday(Feb 12) to buy a king mattress and we came across Sealy memory mattress. We decided to go with that. The sale Rep(Austin ) then offered us a deal and finance package. We made a down payment of $800 ( 700 in Debit and 100 in cash). He then took all info for the finance processing then promised the bed will be delivered on Wednesday Feb 14. The delivery guys came with mattress but told me to pay them balance of $800 and i told them that wasn't the arrangement we had. I called the store and spoke to Linda , she said she doesn't know anything about the transaction and then say she can help me by giving her my credit card info over the phone so she can charge the balance off. Anyways they took the mattress away and i had to go into their store later that day. Now we met Linda and claim she knows nothing about the transaction and have no paper trail nor can she access our file on the system. So I asked for a refund and she said okay she would refund $700 back on the debit card and $100 will be sent home as check which will take 14 days. But i insisted i want all the money ($800) So I requested I speak to a manager, she put me through to Erika ( Regional Store Manager). Who then called Austin to find out what was going on. I was surprise she could get through to Austin because Linda claim she doesn't have Austin's number on the employee directory. Back to Erika, She spoke to Austin and confirmed we did all the paper work and have made a down payment and that the finance was approved hence the mattress will be delivered on Friday Feb 16. We thanked her and left the store. Today Thursday Feb 15, the store called and said they are sorry the finance isn't approved anymore. We need to come in and pay the balance or find a co applicant. I find them not to be trust worthy, unreliable and lack good customer service. We went back to the store and i saw Austin walking out of the door,i quickly got down from the car and called him but instead he walked away and drove off and said okay we are done with all this back and forth we just want out money back. Got in and we met another sales rep who claimed he doesn't work there and he's only covering for someone. We asked him to refund the $700 back on the card and send the $100 check home just as Linda said she was going to do yesterday. Then he came up with another story, Oh this is a new system they just implemented won't let him refund the $700 to the debit card has they promised to do yesterday. So now we have to wait for 10 to 14 business days to get the money back. I know for sure stores refund money back on Debit ( Walmart, Canadian tire and many more). I totally regret stepping my foot into that store. All we got was grief and waste of our evening time which we could have use to bond with the kids after work / School. Lesson learnt, please read reviews about a company before you engage in business with them, Before you make payment ask about their return / refund policy and if possible have them write whatever they promise in blue and white signed. we hope the check comes through and we won't have to spend more of our evenings at their store getting poor customer service and been lied to. I find them not organized and not truthful. Everyone say different things and make false statements here by misleading customers. Please avoid sleep country if you need some sanity in your life.
