My favourite pharmacist, Elaine Yee-Ling Chung is leaving the Shoppers Drug Mart store I use, (812 O'Connor Drive in East York) because the owner, Jerry Ip, is putting too much pressure on her. The main reason I shop at this location is the presence of the Pharmacy Manager, Elaine Yee-Ling Chung. Shes knowledgeable, quick, efficient, generous with her advice, makes the effort to learn your name and shows interest in your well-being. Shes an exceptional person and professional. I was extremely disappointed when she told me she has resigned from this store and is going to work at a Shoppers Drug Mart at a different location. When I asked why and she saw how upset I was, she told me that the reason was that the manager kept piling up work on her. The amount of work he expected from her was simply unreasonable. Shes been working at that store for about 17 years, she likes working there, but theres no way she can handle all the demands on her time. She has talked to him about this several times, but he is indifferent. If Elaine leaves this store, theres no reason for me to shop there anymore. There are two much bigger Shoppers stores within a five-minutes-drive of my house, (one at OConnor and Woodbine and one at Victoria Park and Eglinton).
