Worst scam setup for yearly subscription

I signed up and paid for the yearly subscription when moved to Vienna. However, after 10 months, I ended moving back to my home country I wanted to cancel. I couldn't figure out on the app how to cancel the subscription. So I figured, it fine I paid for the year and when it's up I'll be notified and I can tell them no. Instead I get a threatening email of past invoice stating they will take legal action if I don't pay. I immediately wrote back I wish to cancel. I even offered to pay the 1 month credit if they felt i didn't inform in time. However, they just continue to monthly tell me threats to pay the full year subscription and will not cancel my subscription no matter what. I can't cancel from their membership and I don't want to have it. They are forcing me to pay for another year of service I never wanted and told immediately to cancel. The customer service sucks and basically give me the run around template emails and threats. IS there no way to action against this?
