We had a weather related claim - damage to our roof during the April windstorm. They refused to cover the damage to the roof or the damage to the ceiling of the upstairs hallway based on the ridiculous claim that we had no water damage insurance - an outright lie. They are just crooks who want to collect premiums, but if you present them with a valid claim they will lie, procrastinate and do everything to get out of the claim. I went to Wawanesa Head Office at 4110 Yonge street to complain about them ignoring the claim and which point I was told by a very nasty supervisor that the claim is denied because I have no water damage and then he practically threw me out of the office.
