Wooden flooring returns

I bought a lot of wooden flooring from Costco store in Glasgow, just a few weeks ago,Some of it was faulty and I had to return one for that reason, the other one returned because I bought to much.. I found that prior to buying this flooring...I had allready purchased the same kind of flooring from you years ago..the difference was it was a bigger box with practically double the wooden flooring in it.at double the price.......we actually had kept 2 boxes as we had bought too much at the time so we kept the 2 extra boxes , to add to it to do more flooring in the future ..I was actually looking to buy the same flooring but it turns out you did not have the exact same one or the same colour ..it was from the same manufacturer with a 30 yr guarantee... ..my question is this I had kept the 2 older purchases in the house which were kept in a bedroom... .and it turns out that it was 6 years ago that I had bought this... .the reason I am telling you this is I asked 3 members of staff on different occasions about their returns policy when I was in purchasing more flooring, and they all told me to bring it back...although I did not know how long it had been since it had been purchased.... myself a 66yr old woman and my daughter took it back to the store yesterday, and whilst the staff were very nice... the manager Shirley ....,Told me she would not accept it back...we asked what the stores policy was and she said there was no date for returns, but it was up to her to decide and she said NO.she would not accept it back.. she said she did not know how it had been stored. I told her it had been kept in a bedroom,I also told her I had asked 3 different members of staff about the returns and they told me to return it.....I honestly did not realise that it had been six years..... the boxes are in the exact same condition when I bought them-out of the store.......quite embarrassing......they are very heavy items ,which took the two of us to lift them up ..if my husband could have helped he would have but he has just had a limb amputated from below his right knee.....this is why I needed the flooring ,we were having to make a bedroom downstairs on the level for him to come home from hospital.as he is now permanently in a wheelchair,we had no other option than to take it back home.. .what is your policy on returns....thankyou Mrs helen Sandford.
