On several occasions, I noticed checks were taking longer to process and some were done quicker. I called them on this they stated it was the other party but that was wrong. A check written to a local grocery was held for 3 days and on the day it cleared my account had many eft withdraws. Very fee hungry!!!! Then, on a Friday a check was written after 5:00 cleared before 12:01 PM. I called the other party they stated they do not do ach and go thru their back office and normally clears the next day. I called First Midwest Bank and the customer service said it would clear before 12:01 and a manger stated it clears after 12:01. This is unethical. So, watch your check writting!!!! User's recommendation: Keep track of all checks written.
