My flight was canceled February 13 due to high winds in Palm Springs CA, so planes could not land. Was about 515pm when Delta announced my flight to Minneapolis was canceled. I needed a last minute hotel reservation and deferred to Hotwire. Due to the long holiday weekend hotels were either sold out or room rates at a minimum of $400/night. I had limited options and with my rescheduled flight departing early the next morning I booked myself at Motel 6, 660 S Palm Canyon Drive, about 4 miles from the airport. One night room rate was $320!. The hotel room was filthy, room spelled of cigarette smoke, sheets appeared to be unchanged, the toilet and shower were dated, stained, and dirty. Guests were loud and neighborhood was seedy. I should have slept at the airport. User's recommendation: STAY AWAY, the hotel should be condemned.
