Want to not be charged for canceling ride i didnt know was coming

Didnt know i had an uber coming until i got a text they were 30 mins away so when i canceled i got charger $35 dollars which isnt fair considering i didnt know i had an uber booked and i did get a text before the hour mark so i got charged. I already have to use uber 6 other times this week i dont want to if i get charged 35 for today
