The online AAFES exchange service is restricted to active duty and retired Army Air Force personnel. The largest group of online users are Retired Vets. With the Pandemic this number has increased. These folks who claim to be affiliated with the military are rude, impersonal and incompetent. The right to shop AAFES had to be earned yet the pricing is horrible, logistics is disgraceful and inventory control routinely places items on sale with no or minimal stock and do not offer rain checks, additionally its it uncommon for a Vet to order an item indicated in stock and then involuntarily cancelled by AFFES with no recourse as happened recently when ordering essential PPE equipment in stock at time of ordering and rationed to wait two weeks and have them to cancel the item without by permission or offer a back order status. Items , even toothpaste in stock everywhere we have waited a week before ever getting a shipment status. They claim to focus on Vets but this is a bust but more than that being confronted with Neolithic incompetence as a reward for 28 years and two wars. Absolutely needs serious oversight. User's recommendation: Expect the worst and you won’t be disappointed.
