Useless stores, 5+ hours spent trying to activate a *** phone

My local store doesn't have any function besides retail sales. I went in to upgrade my phone and had to spend an hour on the phone and then had to order the actual phone online. Then my new phone won't activate using the automated activation features, and there is no alternative online besides calling the number to then sit on hold again for 30+ mins. Verizon has gone to *** I'll likely switch to T-mobile. User's recommendation: switch to T-mobile or AT&T.
