Unable to access account or view statement

My log-in opened a 'Add Your Mobile Phone' page that to my chagrin did not contain a 'Close' link or X. Since I DO NOT USE a cell/mobile phone, I entered my landline, hoping that would take me to my account - no luck. NOW PayPal wants me to enter a code, texted to my non-mobile phone, on ANOTHER page that ALSO isn't closeable! And the 'Change' link does not enable me to remove the landline number I entered - to my even GREATER chagrin. Please provide 'Close' links or X-es on 'Add Your Mobile Phone' pages, so that people (like me) who DON'T use mobile phones can proceed to their accounts/statements without being denied access, which is unacceptable. Oh yes, and since my log-in gets me THIS far, I DON'T need a password. User's recommendation: Best to express your ire without profanity.
