Trying to resolve a customer service issue

My son got bounced from flight 1/2 hour before the departure due to Covid restrictions. Qatar airlines promised to change the flight without penalty then reneged. When I tried to call their US customer service lines I could not get through. First I was stuck on hold while a recorded message described unusually long wait times. When I tried to call back later the same day every single number I called resulted in a vague message saying "call could not be completed due to network error." User's recommendation: Do not use Qatar Airways.
