Truly horrific experience with Ready Built repair shop in Phoenix, AZ.

I took my Mittsubishi in for a new A/C compressor in early July of '07 to Amato's Auto Repair in Phoenix, AZ. After dropping the car off, Jerry Amato calls me the next day and tells me it will be $100 more than the quote he gave me a day earlier. I relucatantly agree and get my car back. When I took the car to a shop that I trust, Gab's in N PHX, I am told that the clicking noise indicated a bad compressor. Sure enough, once it started heating up again the next season, the compressor fell apart taking a pulley with it which threw out the alternator. I called but when I took the car back I found the shop was closed down. I called again and was informed they had moved further south to Buckeye. The battery then gave out so I had to remove it from the car and take it home. I then returned to drive it to the new location. I was told the warranty would cover it but he then charged me $260 due to other damage. This was April 17th, 2008. The car experienced the exact same problem just days later. The battery died as I pulled up to the shop. I then puched it into the garage. I was told it would not cost me a dime assuming it was the same problem. Yet, I was charged $125 for the belt and pulley on 5-5-08. The car breaks down yet again a week later. I took it to a shop near me to get a new belt which cost me $90 on 5-22-08 so I could get it across town to Ready Built on 19th Avenue on 5-30-08. After going back and forth on the phone he finally tells me he will put a new A/C compressor in car. When I get it back the compressor still has the marks I put on it proving he didn't change it out. When I question him about it he gets an attitude and challenges me. We nearly get into it and he then grabs a baseball bat and chases me out of the shop! The car breaks down yet again when someone test drives it and turns on the A/C. I finally take it back to the place near me where I got the belt and pay nearly $500 to actually get the A/C compressor switched out on 6-9-08. No problem after that and I was able to sell the car. Jerry Amato was served with court papers on 10-8-08 and it went to small claims on 11-20-08. I won the $500 back plus court costs although I felt I was entitled to more. I finally got paid at the beginning of March 2009. No one should ever go near this shop!
