Travel Cancelation Reimbursement
3
I recently booked a reservation for two ($6450.00) on The Smooth Jazz Cruise 2020.2 for March 14-21, 2020. The carrier for the cruise is Celebrity Cruise Line and the vendor is Entertainment Cruise Productions. LLC (ECP). On Monday, March 9, 2020, The United States State Department issued recommendations that all US citizens restrict cruise travel due to the worldwide rapidly spreading coronavirus (Covid-19) infections. Celebrity Cruise Line has recently put in place a new Cancelation Policy stating that all Celebrity Cruise Line travel cancelations will be reimbursed with equal value future travel vouchers that must be completed by December 2021. When I attempted to cancel my reservations for The Smooth Jazz Cruise 2020.2 through ECP, I was told that they have "NOT DECIDED" how they are going to honor the cancelations recommended and supported by the US State Department. This decision would only be made after termination of the cruise and return to port on March 21, 2020. Celebrity Cruise Line states that they would honor any and all cancelations, but reimbursement would have come from ECP. It is my expectation for ECP to follow the same reimbursement policy of Celebrity Cruise Line and make this equal-value reimbursement before the sailing. This is a very risky time for travel and the State Department's advisory must be considered. User's recommendation: Attempt working with the company for a resolution.
