Original review posted by user Jan 01, 2014 What a nightmare. Rico, the owner and sole employee seemed like a good idea at first. He talks really fast and tells you everything you want to hear. I forgot the old rule if it sound to good to be true it is. First he told us that he could get us unlimited talk/text/internet for just $20 a month. He sold my husband a phone for this service that cost $60. So we paid for two lines and a one time connection fee of $15. Then I gave him my iphone to repair as it needed an LCD screen. He ordered a new one and I paid him $45 for it and he put it in. It worked for two wks then quit so I took it back in and asked if he could fix it. He acted very different from normal and was actually quite rude and very short with me. I assumed he had a hangover and didnt think much of it. He told me it would need another LCD screen and that he might send the old one back since it had only been a couple weeks that it had worked. I agreed that he should. Later in the evening my husband went in to try to get our phone service hooked up that this guy kept jerking us around about.. Rico told my husband that I had had him "stressed out all day" and said to him "I dont know how you stand your girl" and kept saying derogatory things about me. I thought maybe he was kidding because I had been very cordial to him but apparently he thinks I am horrible for whatever reason..lol..I have no idea. I am thinking it is probably because he doesnt want to deal with replacing the faulty LCD screen. Anyway, so 2 days later my husband goes in to try to deal with all of this nonsense again and just get a refund as we decided we dont want anything to do with the clown. Rico told my husband that I had destroyed my iphone, even though it was in the indestructable otter case that I had purchased from him, and ordered my husband out of the business while threatening to call the police on him. He also doesnt give receipts. His business is directly across the street from the projects and he just hustles peoples cash out of them telling them whatever they want to hear, makes up this dream phone service and then postpones you over and over and over...b.s. ing you all the way. People bring their phones in for repair over and over...When I sit there waiting I hear these people talking about being tired of coming back in there to do this all over again. He most likely is using parts from broken phones to repair with and saying he is ordering new ones so he can charge for the new ones and keep your money. Problems arise though when these parts dont work. That is the point where he starts throwing a temper tantrum and saying that you destroyed your phone...because he cant return the part. My husband tried to return the phone he bought from him that he paid $60 for, but of course Rico is saying he only paid $40 for it now. We also paid for this new "chit chat" service two weeks ago and have still not been turned on. When we called chit chat, they had no record of us whatsoever. So this guy is saying that he will switch you and then ust keeping your money. This guy is an all around lying sleazball who just talks really past and promises all kinds of b.s. while he is taking your cash...because you cant pay with a credit card there either. This guy will show you pics of the supposed parts he is going to order online to fix ur phone with, then he will fix it with some parts he has from broken phones laying around. So he is making good money off collecting for these brand new parts that he is supposedly ordering...and he wouldnt get caught--if the parts always worked the way they should. If one doesnt, such as in my case, then he is screwed because he either doesnt have the money to order u a real one, or he is just too tight to spend the cold hard cash to make it right. This is when he will start saying that you have "destroyed your phone." Even though you have purchased an ottercase, from HIM, that makes it virtually indestructible. lol. This whole place is a trainwreck. Not to mentiom it is in the absolute epicenter of the very most hardcore, worst part of town. However, I must say the people at chit chat have been nothing but nice and have even offered us free service for the first month as this guy just took our money close to a month ago and never ever even called them and tried to have us switched. They had no record of us whatsoever and still are trying to make it right for us. I tried to add video but it didnt work.
