I had the procedure done in Troy MI with 2250 grafts a little over a year ago with Dr Shannon (who is no longer there). I have a huge scar on the back of my head that goes ear to ear, so I can never shave my head again without looking like Frankenstein. For 9-10 months after the procedure, I had at any one time about 8 gnarly boils / huge deep zits on my scalp. They were very painful and super disgusting - just filled with puss. They would last about a week each, but by the time they popped and subsided to non-infected scabs, more had surfaced to take their place. I had scabs all over my head the entire time and most definitely lost those grafts that were compromised by these infections (at least 400-500). Between the nightmare recovery, the loss of a significant number of grafts, and the butchering of the back of my scalp, I would say that I wasted 10,000 (which was promoted as a "special deal"). My hair looks better, but this experience was NOT what I bargained for, nor was it worth a quarter of the money I spent.
