A month or so ago my Samsung Galaxy 9 phone started smoking when I plugged it in to my recently purchased car charger. Luckily I had not pulled out into traffic. I frantically pulled the plug out, burning my finger. My advice: Do not leave your Samsung on a charger if you are sleeping, showering/bathing or if your kids are somewhere alone unattended! User's recommendation: Do not leave your Samsung on a charger if you are not able to monitor it.
