This company appears to be less than reputable

About a year ago I had this company come out to check out my 5 ton Trane heat pump which had quit running. I check the circuit breakers and reset both breakers and the unit still did not run. The technician that came out and flipped both breakers and behold the unit was working again. He said that the unit needed servicing and sold me a maintenance contract and came out the next day. While he was servicing the unit he indicated that I had *** in my coil and it needed replaced. The unit was under warranty however just the labor cost and the coolant would cost me over $4000 dollars and he basically conned me into buying a new so called more efficient American Standard unit. This unit he recommended was a three and a half ton unit, less than the 5 ton unit but he said that the 5 ton unit was too big and my air return was too small for the 5 ton unit and the 3.5 ton unit would be much more efficient. My feeling is that the tech poked *** in the coil purposely to get me to buy a new unit. Well the new unit does keep my house cool but not as well as the 5 ton unit and the cost of cooling my house has gone up 50 to 100 dollars a month. So much for the more efficient unit. This year the technician came out to do the preventative maintenance on the new unit and my wife discussed the increased energy problem. He went under the house to check the duct work and took pictures of the duct work. The pictures according to my wife showed several large holes in the duct work. I found this hard to believe since I has our energy company come to the house and they conducted an energy survey and sealed up any system and house air leeks. I was not how when the tech came but I went under the house and took my own pictures and showed them to my wife and ask her if the pictures I took and she saw from the Techs pictures were similar. She said they did not ever resemble each other. Mine showed not hole at all. I did explore the system under the house and did have two ducts coming from the plenum and they did have some leakage only because the company did not seal the duct work coming out of the unit like they were suppose to have. I called Airmasters at least three time in the last few weeks to see the pictures they took so I could match up and see what they were talking about in regard to the large hole they said were in the duct work. The technician after three calls indicated to the customer service rep of the company I talked to did not have the pictures. How covenant for them. The Tech quoted my wife $3,500 cost to replace the duct work he said needed replace. That is rubbish all that is required is a little duct tape and 15 minutes of my time. I would not trust this company again and would not recommend them to anyone they are a scam and has cost me dearly over the last two years. I firmly feel they broke my Trane unit and purposely sold me a unit really not sufficient to save me but cost me in energy cost.
