My elderly father had overdraft protection on his TCF checking account and well over enough funds to cover the funds needed to pay a check. He wrote an unusually large check and the check bounced, causing a cascade of other overdraft charges. The total amount of charges totals more than $200.00 and TCF refuses to compensate him. Since I have taken over his bill - paying and trying to get TCF to listen to reason, all they do is to reiterate their policy and will not pay attention to the facts I have presented them. User's recommendation: Don't bank with TCF.
