The safety of La Quinta Inns and Suites

On July 29 and July 30, 2021, I reserved a two nights stay at La Quinta Hotel in Fresno CA. Address: 2026 Tulare St. Fresno, CA. 93721. Tel [protected]. Reservation #[protected]. Since I was traveling to the area without knowing the safety in the area. I checked in late around 2:00 am in the morning. When I checked in, I was assigned a room in the 3rd floor room 337. I parked my car on the same side where my room is located. I locked all my belongings in the trunk of my car with a car alarm on. After a few hours, I came back to retrieve my belongings. My trunk was opened and all belongings were stolen. Nothing left over. I quickly reported to the hotel staff. They informed me that there is a hotel camera through out the building and they should be able to get the camera footage. They will review and check to see who stole my properties. They also reported that they have a security guard patroled the building from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am every night. They asked me to call back and talk to the manager Mr. Sal at 11:00 am on 7/30/21. But when I called back that day, Mr. Sal refused to talk to me. The clerk simply stated that he has no chance to review the camera yet. On 07/31/21, I called back to talk to the hotel manager Ms. Rebecca. She informed me that the hotel camera couldn't detect anything. In addition, the security guard didn't see anything that night. It is unbelievable that the camera didn't detect anything and the security guard couldn't see anything while my car/the trunk was wide opened and all my belongings were all stolen. Around the hotel there are homeless persons slept in all corners and on the stairs. The building smelt so bad with urines. Trashes were all over the places. This hotel is very unsafe for customers to stay there. My properties were all stolen with a total lost about $12, 000.00 dollars. Therefore; I am asking that the hotel board and management team need to improve the safety for this hotel. It is useless to install a camera that is not working. And also useless to hire a security guard who couldn't guard anything. That security guard needs to be fired and the staff at the hotel need to be fired as well. even though, they still charged me for two nights. Due to safety reason, I can no longer stay there for the second night. They refused to refund me for the second night. This is terrible and unprofessionally business. Even the hotel is unable to recover for my losses, I kindly ask for a partial refund for the night I didn't stay there. In addition, for the safety for other customers, I kindly ask that the hotel needs to improve the safety standard for this hotel. All security cameras need to be re-set. The building needs to be gated. and the security guard needs to be more proactive. Don't just hire a security guard to go there to sleep. Police report has been made on this case. Case# 21-41068.
