Terrible experience – Stay away from Right Cars

We reserved a mini-van for a family vacation in Orlando for 12 days. We had a flight arriving late at night, so the rent-a-car office was closed. We knew this, so we rented a hotel nearby, planning to walk to the place and rent the car the next morning. We googled the address from the hotel and sure enough it was at a walking distance. We started walking for about a block in the direction indicated by Google Maps, but we couldn´t see signs for Right Cars. So we decided to enter the business which had a sign for Red Coach. Surprisingly enough, this was the place. I would think they should at a minimum have the name of the business up front for customers to recognize it !! Oh well, so I come up to the counter and the girl pulls out my reservation. From the moment she starts talking, all she's worried about was to add up additional charges to the reservation. Please note that they will not accept any insurance for the car except the one they will force you take, if you decide to rent a car with them. I have always rented cars with the major rent a car companies (Alamo, Hertz, Dollar, Avis) and have always been able to waive both the LDW and CDW insurance and have used my credit card insurance. Since I rented a mini-van I was obliged to take a $45.00 per day insurance (CDW+LDW) which boosted up my reservation for $450.00 plus tax. Additionally, they make you pay $9.99 per day for the Sunpass toll charges, which again you are obliged to pay. The original reservation I had made online was for $533.00 and I ended up paying $1023.00. Almost double than what I had budgeted for transportation for my family vacation!!! At the end, you have no option but to rent the car from them, because their location is off-airport grounds so it's either rent with them or waste your time going back to the airport and try to make another reservation with any of the major companies. Also, the girl at the counter told us they could receive the car at 6:00 am, but they couldn´t guarantee a shuttle service to the airport at that time. So, I had no option than to rent another car for that day just to go back to the airport. When I returned the car, they told me the information I was given was not correct because they did provide shuttle service since 6:00 am. There was a manager in at that time and after listening to all my complaints, offered to pay for the one-day reservation I had made just to take back to the airport the next morning. To be fair, this was the only act of politeness and customer care I received from this company. Now, I'm back home and I have a charge for $839.00 from them. I believe this is the deposit that they charge up front, and I don't know when I will get my deposit back!!! All the other major rent a cars simply release your credit without actually charging the deposit, if there were no problems with the car. PLEASE DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE. THEY ARE A TOTAL SCAM.
