Total rip off! I called this Modern Air Conditioning and Home Services in Pinellas Park, Fl. this past Monday (7/4/16) because my AC was running warmer then what it was set at. The serviceman, Mike came out and tried to tell me the following; I have enough freon but it maybe the the wrong type. He can fill it with the right freon for about $75.00 a lb. I asked will that solve my problem. All I got was "maybe." Then he said the compressor "maybe" bad. But no guarantees that this was the issue. And I were going to replace the compressor at a cost of about $2,000. I might as well replace the whole unit at a cost of about $3,500.-$4,800. He also claimed that the duct work was all in tact. I told him that I would have to think about this and let them know. I then called a friend back in So. Elgin, Il who owns his own company and asked for some advice. He said that either the compressor is bad or it isn't and that this service guy was trying to screw me over. I called another company locally here where I live and I explained to him over the phone what was going on and he said that he was willing to bet that the issue was because it was low on freon. And that is because that when it cools down outside the AC unit works just fine. It is when it warms up outside that it will not cool down my home. I would never use this company for anything. They are a joke. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!
